Saffron was having a very hard time listening, she was hitting and biting us, she was hitting her sister and we were not impressed. I let her know that she would not be getting her suckie-poo for her afternoon nap. This was the first time that we had tried this for a punishment.

She was not really concerned until nap time came, she was in her bed and I was explaining to her why she wasn’t getting her suckie-poo. I was thinking that she would cry for 10-20 minutes and then eventually be tired. She outlasted my expectations by quite a bit; we went in a few times to try to calm her down but all she wanted was the soother. I would have been fine to give it to her after about 20 minutes but I didn’t want her to think that crying would get her the soother back, so we endured.

After 90 minutes, things finally quieted down in her room and we thought that she had fallen asleep, 20 minutes later, she starts calling us, “Daaaddy, Mooooommy”. We walk into her room and this is what we see. A girl who has crawled on top of her change table (first time), thrown all her diapers, clothes and wet-wipes onto the ground. We all laughed that her spirits were still high.

She did manage to have a good evening even though she had no afternoon nap and she had a great sleep at night… with her suckie-poo.
